Position Overview
The Lead, Quality Assurance is responsible for driving quality across all phases of the software development lifecycle. This role requires a strong blend of technical expertise, leadership, and communication skills to champion quality standards, lead testing initiatives, and ensure product release readiness. The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker and hands-on practitioner who can balance innovation with process rigor.
Core Responsibilities
Quality Leadership
- Drive the overall quality discipline across engineering teams
- Develop and enforce standards and procedures to determine product quality and release readiness
- Identify, track, and report on key quality KPIs to inform decision-making and continuous improvement
- Perform and document thorough risk analyses throughout the development process
Testing Strategy & Execution
- Create robust, comprehensive test plans aligned with product and release goals
- Perform manual and automated testing, tracking and communicating progress and results to stakeholders
- Review user interfaces for consistency, usability, and functionality
- Maintain an effective test case bank by documenting, organizing, and regularly updating test cases
Tooling & Automation
- Lead the evaluation, implementation, and ongoing improvement of testing tools and technologies
- Establish and maintain the automated testing framework
- Develop and maintain automated tests to maximize coverage and efficiency
- Drive innovation to streamline and modernize overall testing processes
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Proven experience in software quality assurance, with demonstrated leadership or mentorship experience
- Strong knowledge of QA methodologies, tools, and best practices
- Hands-on experience building and maintaining automated testing frameworks
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present quality metrics clearly to technical and non-technical audiences
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and logical reasoning abilities
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced development environment
