Job Summary
The Maintenance Technician I is responsible for performing routine maintenance tasks to ensure that equipment and facilities remain operational, safe, and efficient. This entry-level role supports the maintenance team by assisting with repairs, preventative maintenance, and troubleshooting under the supervision of senior technicians or the Maintenance Supervisor.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform basic maintenance and repair tasks on equipment, machinery, and building systems as instructed.
- Conduct routine inspections to identify potential issues and report findings to senior team members as instructed.
- Assist with troubleshooting equipment malfunctions and performing minor repairs.
- Replace or repair basic components such as belts, filters, faucets, door handles, etc
- Maintain and organize tools, parts, and maintenance equipment in designated areas.
- Document completed work, including parts used and time spent, in the maintenance log or system.
- Adhere to safety protocols and regulations, ensuring a clean and hazard-free work environment.
- Support preventive maintenance programs by following schedules and completing assigned tasks.
- Communicate timely and accurately with team members and supervisors about ongoing tasks and issues.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the Maintenance Supervisor or management.
Qualifications
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Previous experience in maintenance, repair, or a related field is preferred but not required.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
Skills and Competencies:
- Basic knowledge of hand tools, power tools, and maintenance equipment.
- Familiarity with basic mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.
- Ability to read and understand maintenance manuals and schematics.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Good communication and teamwork abilities.
- Willingness to learn and follow instructions from senior technicians.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift up to 75 lbs regularly.
- Capability to work in various environments, including outdoor, noisy, or confined spaces.
