Our Team

Our Field Service Technician team strives to serve our customers in installation and repair and preventative maintenance of packaging equipment while providing additional support during the peak season, June - September. Our team works weekends, holidays and covers accounts as needed based on customer demands of our MPG TEAM, Georgia-Pacific, and external customers. Members of our team must be able to travel from location to location to perform routine and urgent maintenance approximately 90% of the time including into the southern United States region. While performing the duties of this job team members are regularly exposed to the standard risk of a production and packaging environment. Team members are provided extensive, hands-on training for this position. Our Field Service Technician team is provided a company Ford F150, cellphone, and laptop computer.

What You Will Do

• Evaluate electromechanical box machinery, including vacuum and compressed air systems.

• Fabrication, Electrical, and pneumatic systems.

• Provide service to external customers for a positive experience, including education on the safe operation of box setup machines.

• Ensure the safety of all personnel working or operating in the area of our setup equipment including but not limited to attending safety meetings, providing routine maintenance, following hazardous materials safety procedure and proper lock out procedure.

• Ability to work with minimal supervision.

• Avoid downtime, reacting with urgency and work independently.

• Perform emergency breakdown maintenance as necessary to support operations.

• Accurately use measurement and test equipment for routine maintenance, capability and improvement of box set up equipment.

• Troubleshoot, adjust, calibrate, and repair industrial machine motors, chains, bearings, gear boxes, cylinders, pumps, etc.

• Read and interpret electrical and mechanical schematics and blueprints of box setup equipment to perform maintenance.

• Properly document though ARI mileage, TEA reporting and truck inventory and work orders reporting in MP2.

• Understand and apply electrical knowledge of PLCs, AC and DC voltages, and transformers independently.

• Routine maintenance, changeovers, and set up machine installation.

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

• Responsible Driver and Traveler - clean driving record and current valid US driver's license and ability to pass a MVR background and travel by plane if requested.

• Mechanically Inclined – minimum 2 years mechanical experience or a combination of trade school and relevant experience in industrial environments including but not limited to fabrication, welding, plumbing, change overs, installation, maintenance, schematics and/or troubleshooting.

• Electrically Included – minimum 2 years hands on electrical experience and/or electrical higher education with the ability to transfer knowledge to an industrial environment including but not limited to use of VOMs, transformers, electric machine controls, circuit trouble shooting and circuit modification.

• Flexible - willing to travel for work and work hours that may include overtime, holidays, weekends as required.

• Local - currently residing in the Apollo Beach or Florida City Region or ability to relocate to the region without company assistance.

• Independent - willing to work with minimal supervision.

For this role, we anticipate paying $25 - $27 per hour. This role is eligible for time and a half overtime and double holiday pay.
