Construction Quality Control Manager

Julius Kaaz Construction Company is seeking a Quality Control Manager for a $10M single award contract at Fort Leavenworth, KS. This position is responsible for the overall Quality Control Management of a LEED Silver Whole Building Renovation project. The ideal candidate has a strong and varied construction background and experience with the USACE QCM program.
This position utilizes multiple construction software platforms and performs daily data entry.

Qualifications

• 5 years of construction/quality control experience
• Federal/MILCON contract experience preferred
• USACE CQM for Contractors certification or ability to obtain within 30 days
• Ability to work on a military installation (Pre-employment government background check required)
• Valid U.S. Driver’s License
• Ability to speak fluent English

Essential Job Functions:

• Implement, maintain, and manage Quality Control plan and policies
• Prepare daily QC reports
• Coordinate quality control inspections with client QA inspectors
• Perform daily QC data entry
• Assist project managers in developing project/site specific quality control plans
• Coordinate submittals, maintain up to date submittal log
• Assist subcontractors in federal, state, and local QC compliance, as needed
• Other duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Excellent knowledge of the federal construction industry
• Familiarity with the USACE QCM and RMS programs
• Strong computer skills (MS Office, P6, RMS and construction management software)
• Analytical and critical thinking skills
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to communicate patiently and effectively with technical and non-technical individuals
• Strong leadership and time management skills
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret federal, state, and local regulations
• Ability to gather data, compile information, and generate reports
• Ability to multi-task, establish priorities, and meet deadlines
• Self-starter, problem solver and the ability to work productively with minimal supervision
