Job Overview
We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Warehouse Associate to join our logistics and distribution team. This role involves supporting daily warehouse operations, managing inventory, operating heavy equipment, and ensuring efficient order fulfillment. The ideal candidate will have prior warehouse experience, familiarity with warehouse management systems, and the ability to handle heavy lifting and mechanical tasks. Duties
- Manage inventory control using Warehouse Management System (WMS) and RF scanners to track stock levels and locations
- Operate heavy equipment such as forklifts, reach trucks, cranes, pallet jacks, and order pickers safely in accordance with OSHA standards
- Load and unload shipments efficiently, ensuring proper handling of materials and products
- Pick, pack, and prepare orders for shipping with accuracy and attention to detail
- Stock shelves and organize warehouse space for optimal workflow
- Assist with shipping & receiving processes, including documentation and inventory updates via AS400 or similar systems
- Perform maintenance on equipment as needed, utilizing mechanical knowledge for troubleshooting minor issues
- Support warehouse distribution activities including order fulfillment, materials handling, and construction-related tasks if required
- Follow safety protocols diligently to maintain a safe working environment
Skills
- Proven experience in warehouse operations including inventory management and order picking & packing
- Proficiency with warehouse management systems (WMS), RF scanners, AS400 or similar platforms
- Ability to operate heavy equipment such as forklifts, reach trucks, cranes, pallet jacks, and order pickers safely
- Strong knowledge of OSHA safety standards related to warehouse environments
- Mechanical aptitude for troubleshooting basic equipment issues
- Physical ability for heavy lifting and extended periods of standing or walking within the warehouse setting
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail in stock management and order accuracy
- Experience in shipping & receiving processes along with inventory control techniques
- Familiarity with manufacturing or construction environments is a plus
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced setting
