This position provides Recreational Therapy services to the Julian F. Keith Alcohol and Drug Abuse Treatment Center. The Recreational Therapist primary job responsibilities are:
- Conducts assessments on all assigned residents,
- Develops resident treatment goals and treatment interventions/strategies to assist residents to gain independence
- Social skill development
- Community integration
- Provides input into the overall treatment team planning process
- Documents all progress related to recreational therapy activities and sessions
Qualified applicants include:
- Working knowledge of co-occurring disorders and their implications for recreational therapy services are necessary.
- Skills and capacity to perform accurate and thorough record-keeping
- Able to articulate the philosophy, goals, and strategies of recreational therapy
Minimum Education and Experience:
Licensed to practice recreational therapy by the North Carolina Board of Recreational Therapy.
