Julian Electric Inc. is a trusted Tier 1 preferred supplier for leading global commercial vehicle OEMs, material handling, automotive, construction and agricultural, and other industry OEMs. Headquartered Southwest of Chicago, IL, in Lockport IL, Julian Electric is searching for a motivated individual to take on the role of Human Resources Generalist/Manager.
Julian Electric is looking for a Human Resource Generalist to apply business knowledge and human resource expertise in the administration of human resource policies and programs. This individual should be organized, efficient, have an eye for detail with a high level of accuracy and be willing to work 100% on site. This position will provide a wide range of guidance and support on recruitment, employee separations, employee relations, safety, and HR best practices while facilitating a positive relationship between personnel and senior management.
Primary responsibilities will include, but are not limited to the following:
- Partner with management to communicate and ensure the adherence to Human Resources policies, procedures, programs, and laws.
- Maintain positive employee communication and assist in upholding a positive work environment through strong employee relations.
- Help lead safety program and manage all work compensation claims.
- Benefits and compensation administration.
- Administrate and/or oversee all employee disciplinary and termination procedures and ensure that all pertinent documentation is maintained.
- Complete exit Interviews, compile turnover trending and review with management.
- Recruitment and hiring of all hourly, salaried, and technical personnel, working with the supervisors/managers of the positions.
- Works with the training and development team to conduct management/employee training in topics including interview skills, performance management, safety harassment, principles of conduct, and business policy guidelines.
- Participate in the conduct of investigations when employee complaints or concerns are brought forth.
- Reviews existing human resources policies and procedures and initiates changes as necessary to ensure compliance with law, corporate policies, and business objectives.
- Other tasks and duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree, Business or HR Management or equivalent experience
- 2 years prior experience in the human resources area, preferably in a manufacturing environment, including knowledge of recruitment processes, benefits and compensation administration and practices, employee relations, and legal compliance
- Understanding of relevant employment laws and practical application of same (Federal and State)
- Strong communication skills, both written and oral
- Strong technical skills/aptitude: Proficiency in MS Office programs
- Effective oral and written communication
- Excellent interpersonal and coaching skills
- Evidence of the practice of a high level of confidentiality
- Excellent organizational skills
- Ethical behavior when dealing with sensitive information
- Demonstrates positive and friendly attitude in working with all levels within the organization
Preferred Skills:
- HR Certification (PHR, SPHR, CP or SCP)
- Able to speak, read, and write Spanish
- Experience using Paylocity
