Job Summary

At Jukebox, our Host is more than someone who greets guests—you are the conductor of the dining room. As the first and last impression of our speakeasy, you are responsible for creating an exceptional guest experience while maintaining control of the front door, reservations, and dining room flow. The ideal candidate is warm, confident, organized, and comfortable making decisions that keep service running efficiently. You must be able to balance outstanding hospitality with enforcing restaurant policies professionally and consistently.

Responsibilities

• Welcome every guest with genuine hospitality and professionalism.
• Manage reservations, walk-ins, and waitlists while maximizing seating efficiency.
• Control the pace of seating to ensure the kitchen and service team are never overwhelmed.
• Maintain accurate wait times and communicate them confidently to guests.
• Escort guests to their tables while creating a memorable first impression.
• Coordinate closely with servers, bartenders, managers, and the kitchen to maintain a smooth service flow.
• Enforce Jukebox policies regarding reservations, seating, dress code, large parties, and dining times in a respectful but firm manner.
• Handle guest concerns calmly and professionally, knowing when to involve management.
• Keep the host stand, entrance, and lobby clean, organized, and inviting.
• Answer phones, respond to guest inquiries, and assist with reservation requests.
• Help maintain an orderly dining room by monitoring table status, guest flow, and service timing.

Qualifications

• Previous restaurant hosting or customer service experience is preferred.
• Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to remain calm, organized, and professional during busy service periods.
• Strong leadership presence with the confidence to manage guest expectations and control the floor.
• Excellent multitasking and problem-solving abilities.
• Experience with restaurant reservation or POS systems is a plus.
• Dependable, punctual, and available to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
