Retail Store Associates

JOB SUMMARY:

We are looking for customer focused store associate. Strong customer service mentality, friendliness towards customers and fellow employees, a willingness to learn basic home improvement knowledge, and openness to a flexible schedule in a retail environment is a must. Main duties include assisting customers throughout the selling process and working with fellow employees to maintain the store’s inventory and appearance.

Preferred candidates will have retail or hospitality experience, as well as excellent communication skills and knowledge related to hardware industry.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Provide customer with a friendly store environment by greeting them with a smile and putting there needs first

· Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction through excellent sales service and a customer first mentality.

· Assess customer’s needs and provide assistance and information on products and their features

· Assist customers using several different computer programs (i.e rental software, computer paint mixing, electronic car key programming, computer pool water testing, UPS Label Creation)

· Assist Cashier with completing customer transactions, when there is a line of customers at register

· Help stock merchandise as it arrives from suppliers

· Help keep items stocked and faced throughout store and help keep inside and outside of store clean and presentable

· Carry out tasks as directed by store manager

SKILLS REQUIRED:

· A friendly, positive, customer focused attitude is a must

· Basic understanding of sales principles and customer service practices

· Ability to learn and perform tasks on computers using several different software systems

· Basic math skills

· Ability to work flexible hours and multitask in a retail environment

· Ability to work in a team and independently with minimum supervision

· Time management and ability to prioritize tasks given

· Solid verbal communication and interpersonal skills

· Willingness to learn about new items and procedures quickly

Ability to stand for long periods of time and to lift up to 60lbs
