Job Title: Chemical Health Technician
Supervisor: Executive Director
Salary: Dependent on Qualifications
Status: Part Time
Shifts: Varied Shifts, 8am-4pm, 4pm-12 midnight, 12 midnight-8am
Job Purpose: To accurately supervise, monitor, observe and report on all clients at JFRS. Must be medication trained and able to accurately record and dispense medications to clients.
Qualifications:
· Must have high school diploma or equivalent.
· Ability to write and communicate effectively with others, which requires you to read and answer all electronic communications.
· Basic computer skills, including Windows and Word.
· Ability to maintain highest level of confidentiality with respect to clients.
· Have knowledge of substance use disorders and recovery.
· Willing to learn and take direction well.
· Must have a valid Minnesota driver’s license and proof of insurance.
· Must be able to pass background check by DHS and a national background check.
· If applicant has a substance abuse history, he/she must be in compliance with DHS regulations. Two years of confirmed abstinence from all mood altering substances.
· Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol test.
Duties and Responsibilities:
· Maintain daily functions of the agency
· Make routine bed checks- during the evening, at curfew and on weekends.
· Supervise and monitor day and evening activities of all JFRS clients and facility.
· Observe and report-Daily Shift reporting in the log book and end of shift reports by email-Document the incidents and email all reports to counselors.
· Attend all required meetings and trainings.
· Comply with all personnel policy and other policies of the agency.
· Perform hourly rounds of the facility to ensure the safety of all JFRS clients. Walk the grounds, the entire perimeter around the campus.
· Assist the Admissions Coordinator with intakes- Assign clients their beds, dresser and closet area. Also, point out where their bathroom is located and the nearest emergency exit
· Assist clients with their belongings- upon arrival all clients are expected to wash and dry their personal belongings. You will need to show the clients where the washer and dryer are located and help start the process to ensure that it is done.
· At curfew time-Lock all doors, make sure necessary lights are off and also security lights are on and working on and around the yard.
· Monitor and supervise clients signing in and out-Make sure that clients are signing out appropriately and have their contact information as needed.
· Administer medications to clients at designated medication times.
· Complete all other duties as assigned by Executive Director.
