Support Texas Reading Academy cohort participant. Develop and review curricular resources that align with the science of reading.

Minimum Qualifications
Education and Certification Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree required
- TEA Reading Cohort Leader certification
- Valid Texas teaching certificate
- Valid Texas Driver’s License
- Candidate must have satisfactory outcome of fingerprinting background check. Non-refundable fee (approximately $50.00) paid by the employee.
- Expertise in data analysis to improve student achievement
- Knowledge of curriculum and standards-based instruction, current instructional and assessment research, instructional technology, computer instructional software, curriculum alignment, and current literacy issues and trends
- Knowledge of strategies and materials for PK-5 literacy instruction
- Knowledge of how to teach literacy concepts that follow the science of reading
- Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills
- Ability to communicate effectively with administrators and teachers
- Current knowledge of Texas Reading Academy requirements
- Experience working with Texas Reading Academy cohorts preferred
- 3 years teaching experience in grade K-3 preferred

- Facilitate a comprehensive cohort of teachers, administrators, or support personnel as they complete the Texas Reading Academy requirements
- Monitor the implementation of reading strategies across all elementary campuses
- Provide professional development on the science of reading
- Develop or review curricular resources related to the science of reading
- Observe teachers and provide actionable feedback designed to improve instruction
- Work collaboratively and collegially with other cohort leaders, instructional coaches and district instructional coordinators
- Evaluate Texas Reading Academy artifacts and provide feedback to participants
- Attend Curriculum Department meetings and confer regularly with curriculum development staff
- Attend conferences and workshops
- Promote positive school-community relations by communicating effectively with staff, students, parents, and the community by projecting a positive image that enhances the District’s mission
- Routinely communicate and provide updates to district lead
- Attend mandatory trainings as required by TEA and/or the authorized provider
- Maintain accurate account of teacher records regarding teacher progress toward the completion and final completion of the Texas Reading Academy
- Communicate regularly with teachers regarding their progress toward the completion of the Texas Reading Academy
- Participate in professional development activities to maintain current knowledge of personnel rules, regulations, and practices.
- Maintain a consistent professional demeanor and appearance
- Ensure compliance with the Texas Educator’s Code of Ethics
- Daily attendance and punctuality at work are essential functions of the job
