What are the responsibilities and job description for the Technical Consultant – Data, Automation & BI (Power Platform / Power BI) position at Judit Inc?
We are looking for a hands-on Technical Consultant to support the enterprise systems team of a public transit agency in Nashville, TN. You'll deliver technical projects that range from 2–6 week efforts (about 300 hours) to engagements of up to 3 months (about 400 hours). You'll work alongside an internal project manager to build workflow automations, data solutions, and dashboards that help the agency's departments run better. You'll also help prioritize incoming projects based on business impact.
What You'll Do
- Gather requirements from stakeholders and turn business processes into technical solutions
- Design, build, and optimize automated workflows using Power Automate and related platforms
- Write SQL and Python scripts to structure, clean, and analyze data, and build reusable data models
- Build and improve Power BI dashboards and reports that are accurate, accessible, and fast
- Work with the agency's Snowflake data warehouse and Microsoft SQL Server environments
- Recommend the right tools and technical approach for each project, and confirm them with the project manager before building
- Help prioritize projects by looking at requirements, timelines, dependencies, and stakeholder impact
- Complete functional testing before handing work off for review
- Keep documentation current in SharePoint and follow IT change-control processes
- Join regular check-ins, give progress updates, and raise issues early
Required Qualifications
- 5 years of experience in data analytics, BI development, or process automation
- Strong hands-on experience with the Microsoft Power Platform (Power Automate, Power BI; Power Apps a plus)
- Advanced SQL skills; working knowledge of Python
- Experience with data modeling, dataset preparation, and data pipelines
- Knowledge of dashboard accessibility (ADA/Section 508), performance, and security best practices
- Proven ability to gather requirements and communicate with non-technical stakeholders
- Comfortable working under governance, documentation, and change-control standards
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with the Snowflake data warehouse
- QuickBase development, including QuickBase Pipelines
- ArcGIS automation tools or GIS data experience
- Tableau
- Experience with cloud data architecture (Azure preferred)
- Experience working with government, public-sector, or transit agencies
- Microsoft certifications (e.g., PL-300 Power BI Data Analyst, PL-400/PL-500 Power Automate)
