Our client is looking for a motivated Field Technician to join their installation team supporting access control, CCTV, structured cabling, and IT projects across our client base. This is a hands-on, field-based role suited to a technician with foundational low-voltage skills who is eager to cross-train.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Install, terminate, and test structured cabling (Cat5e/Cat6/fiber) in commercial and institutional environments.
- Install and mount CCTV cameras, access control readers, door hardware, and related low-voltage devices per project drawings.
- Run conduit and cable pathways in accordance with code and project specifications.
- Assist with basic programming and configuration of access control panels, CCTV recorders, and network equipment under senior technician or Project Manager guidance.
- Perform basic IT tasks such as network cable termination, patch panel labeling, and equipment rack organization.
- Test and troubleshoot installed systems to confirm proper functionality prior to turnover.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe job site; manage tools, materials, and vehicle inventory.
- Complete daily job site documentation, including photos, material usage, and time tracking.
- Communicate professionally with clients, general contractors, and other trades on site.
- Follow all company safety protocols and applicable code requirements (NEC, local AHJ).
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- 1 years of experience in low-voltage installation, structured cabling, electrical, security systems, or a related trade (strong hands-on aptitude with less experience will be considered).
- Basic understanding of at least one of: access control, CCTV, structured cabling, or IT networking, with willingness to cross-train across all four.
- Comfortable working with hand and power tools, ladders, and lifts.
- Ability to read basic wiring diagrams and follow installation instructions.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Ability to travel to job sites throughout the service area.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- OSHA 10 certification.
- BICSI Installer certification or manufacturer training (Lenel, Genetec, Axis, Hikvision, or similar).
- Experience working on commercial construction sites.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, work from ladders and lifts, work in attics/crawlspaces/mechanical rooms, and stand or walk for extended periods.
