Job Overview
We are seeking a self-motivated, detail-oriented Seasonal Soil Sampler to support agricultural research and farm management activities. This role involves collecting soil samples, analyzing soil conditions, and assisting with field assessments to ensure optimal crop growth and soil health. The ideal candidate will have a background in agriculture and farm experience, with a strong attention to detail and a commitment to accurate data collection. This is a seasonal paid position designed to support ongoing agricultural practices. In addition to hourly pay with overtime, employees will be reimbursed mileage.
Duties
- Operate ATV in various field conditions and terrain.
- Collect soil samples from designated farm fields following established protocols to ensure consistency and accuracy.
- Assist with preparing samples for laboratory analysis, including labeling, documenting and shipping.
- Maintain equipment used for sampling and ensure all tools are clean and properly stored after use.
- Work independently, outside under manager supervision.
Qualifications
- Personal vehicle with ability to haul ATV is required
- Prior experience in agriculture or farming environments is highly preferred.
- Familiarity with farm operations, fieldwork, or soil sampling techniques is advantageous.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to follow precise instructions are essential.
- Physical ability to perform outdoor work in various weather conditions, including walking in fields.
- Physical ability to lift 30-50 lbs. and work on your feet for long hours.
- Good organizational skills for maintaining accurate records of samples and observations.
- Ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively with team members during busy seasonal periods. This position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals interested in agricultural science, soil health, or farm management to gain practical experience.
Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour
