Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering, with an emphasis in Structural Engineering
- Professional Engineer License (PE)
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in structural engineering
- Proficient with US building codes including IBC, ASCE 7, ACI and AISC
- Proficient with Structural Engineering analysis software, Navisworks and Bluebeam
- Proficient with designing and analyzing traditional steel and concrete structures
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Experience leading small teams
Preferred Qualifications
- MS degree in Civil Engineering with an emphasis in Structural Engineering or MS degree in Structural Engineering
- Structural Engineer License (SE)
- Experience in semiconductor industrial or general industrial facilities
- Experience with STAAD, Navisworks, and Bluebeam
Responsibilities
Position Summary
- Serve as an integral member of the design team performing structural analysis and design
- Collaborate with Structural Lead, Engineers, Designers, and cross-functional disciplines
- Develop design concepts, complete analysis, and ensure structural requirements are reflected in models and documents
- Apply strong knowledge of structural fundamentals and US building codes including seismic provisions
- Support integration of structural design with other disciplines
- May act as Lead Structural Engineer for medium projects or Sub Lead on larger projects
- Take ownership of work with opportunities for growth based on performance and initiative
Duties and Responsibilities
- Perform structural engineering analysis and design with little or no supervision
- Plan and conduct work requiring independent evaluation and application of engineering techniques
- Apply sound engineering judgment and problem-solving skills
- Demonstrate strong knowledge of lateral analysis and design (wind and seismic) and code compliance
Quality & Accuracy
- Maintain high attention to detail and quality control
- Check own work and review calculations of other engineers
- Seek guidance from peers and senior team members when needed
Ownership & Delivery
- Manage workload and meet commitments for schedule, budget, and quality
- Take ownership of assigned structural scope
- Define scope, estimate effort, and identify scope changes
- Work effectively under ambiguous conditions and determine requirements independently
- Escalate issues appropriately to Structural Lead or Project Manager
Leadership & Development
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and designers
- Promote improvements in workflows, systems, and tools
- Embrace emerging technologies within the structural discipline
Working Conditions
- Ability to perform field walks, including:
- Climbing ladders
- Crawling under raised floors
- Walking or standing for extended periods
- Hybrid/remote work model:
- Minimum 2 days/week in a local office or remote work from the U.S. (AZ, CA, CO, HI, NM, NV, UT)
