Description: Our client is currently seeking a Mainframe Network Engineer
Job Description:
- Experienced MF Data Communication Analyst (10 years)
- TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP: Deep understanding of core networking protocols
- Firewalls & VPNs: Configuration and management for secure data transmission
- Network Monitoring Tools: Tools like Wireshark, SolarWinds, or IBM Net View
- Switches & Routers: Hands-on experience with Cisco or similar hardware
- Responsible for the installation, configuration, maintenance and administration of TCP/IP, VTAM Unix System Services and portions of z/OS.
- Support a redundant TCPIP network for a Parallel Sysplex by making use of Dynamic VIPA, Sysplex Distributor and HiperSockets.
- Support non-shared USS file system in a Shared File system accessible by all LPARs within a Sysplex.
- Install and maintain Connect: Direct (NDM), MSM and InterTest Batch utilizing SMP/E.
- Troubleshoot started task abends utilizing IPCS.
- Support and diagnose AT-TLS configurations.
- Apply Ciphers and license certificates.
- Resolve network connection issues utilizing packet traces.
- Design and develop utilities (REXX) to streamline processes.
- Support corporate governance requirements and audits.
- Support Disaster Recovery procedures to recover our operating environments at our recovery site for disaster recovery tests and events.
- Nice to have:Cloud Networking-Familiarity with hybrid cloud environments and IBM Z integration
