Summary:
The Bar Lead at Jubilee Kitchen and Bar is responsible for overseeing daily bar operations, leading the beverage team, and ensuring an exceptional guest experience. This position combines leadership, mixology expertise, and team coordination. The Bar Lead will manage inventory, support training, and uphold quality and service standards, with special attention to the NAPA wine dispensing system, wine club management, and overall beverage program execution.
Key Responsibilities:
Beverage Program Leadership:
- Oversee beverage preparation and ensure consistency and quality in all drinks.
- Operate and train staff on the NAPA wine dispensers.
- Assist in creating and updating beverage menus with management input.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of wines, coffee, and specialty drinks.
Wine Club Oversight:
- Manage the day-to-day operations of the Jubilee Wine Club, including member communication and monthly wine pick-up coordination.
- Maintain accurate membership records and assist with onboarding new members.
- Prepare and organize wine club orders for distribution.
- Collaborate with management to develop exclusive wine offerings and promotions for members.
- Provide wine education and recommendations to members as needed.
Team Leadership & Training:
- Supervise bartenders and baristas during shifts to ensure smooth operations.
- Train new bar team members on service standards, drink recipes, and safety protocols.
- Foster a team culture of accountability, professionalism, and hospitality.
- Support scheduling and shift coverage in coordination with the General Manager.
Customer Experience:
- Deliver excellent customer service and ensure the bar team meets service expectations.
- Handle guest concerns professionally and resolve issues promptly.
- Engage with customers to promote a warm, welcoming, and knowledgeable environment.
Inventory & Ordering:
- Monitor bar inventory levels and coordinate supply orders.
- Maintain accurate records of stock usage and beverage sales.
- Report inventory shortages and equipment issues promptly.
Cleanliness & Compliance:
- Ensure the bar meets health and safety standards at all times.
- Oversee bar cleanliness, organization, and maintenance of all equipment.
- Enforce responsible alcohol service policies.
POS & Cash Management:
- Operate the POS system, process transactions, and ensure cash accuracy.
- Assist with end-of-shift reconciliation and deposits when needed.
Qualifications:
- 3 years of bartending experience, with at least 1 year in a leadership role.
- Strong knowledge of mixology, wine, coffee, and beverage service.
- Excellent customer service, communication, and leadership skills.
- Ability to lead a team in a fast-paced, high-energy environment.
- Familiarity with POS systems, bar inventory, and ordering processes.
- Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds.
- Manual dexterity to operate bar equipment and tools.
Working Conditions:
- High-volume bar environment with variable shifts and customer traffic.
