Position Title: GEAR UP Site Coordinator
Position Type: Salary $60,000.00 / Exempt, TCH Step 21
Position Hours: Full-time; Extended Workdays, Occasional Saturdays and Frequent Travel
Length of Term/Employment: 225 workdays, At-will
Reports to: Principal
Position Mission: The GEAR UP Site Coordinator will coordinate the following school activities aimed at student success: academic enrichment, counseling, advising, tutoring, parent training, AP, early college, dual enrollment, capacity building, after-school programs, summer programs, college readiness, financial literacy, college awareness training. The Coordinator will report all service data into the online database (Youth Connections) to ensure continuous improvement in student outcomes.

Education/Certification:
- Bachelor’s degree in Educational Leadership or a related field
- Master’s Degree, Preferred
- Texas Teaching Certificate, Preferred
- 3 years of experience with tutoring, academic, and counseling programs
Experience:
- Experience and/or extensive knowledge of effective Extended Learning Programs
- Proven ability to communicate with students, parents, and school staff
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Provide leadership, planning, coordination, and management to support the development of infrastructure that creates conditions for educational access
- Collaborate with campus staff to organize student events such as pep rallies, academic nights and other support activities before, during, and after school to encourage post-secondary readiness
- Help organize, provide support for, and attend evening and weekend events
- Establish a whole-child learning approach that cultivates a sense of belonging and community
- Collect, analyze and desegregate data (i.e. grades, attendance, transcripts, etc.) to improve student academic achievement and soft skills through student interviews and counselor recommendations
- Demonstrated attention to detail and organizational skills to efficiently manage student programs and activities
- Knowledge of available and appropriate community agencies and resources
- Collaborate with campus administration, counselors, teachers, and parents to maximize student achievement and provide a holistic support system
- Timely submission of required documentation for student services, volunteer and donation forms, In-Kind Match collections for data entry in Youth Connections
- Assist in the assessment and long-term sustainability of the program
- Mac and/or PC proficient
- Bilingual preferred
- Ensure daily attendance and punctuality at work
- Perform other duties as assigned
Communication:
- Establish and maintain open communication by conducting conferences with students, parents, teachers, principal, and other school personnel as needed
- Maintain a professional relationship with administrators, students, parents, school and district personnel, and community members
- Use effective communication skills to present information accurately and clearly, emphasizing student-focused messages
- Leverage social media platforms to increase student, parent, and community involvement, highlighting student success stories and program benefits
- Advocate for a school environment that acknowledges and respects diversity, ensuring all cohort students feel supported
Professional Growth and Development:
- Participate in staff development activities to improve job-related skills
- Attend and participate in faculty and department meetings and serve on committees as required
- Maintain expertise in college knowledge and readiness (FAFSA/Financial Aid applications, scholarship opportunities, college application process, etc.)
