Position Hours: Full-time extended workdays, occasional Saturdays, and frequent travel
Length of Term/Employment: 223 workdays / At-Will
Reports to: CCMR Director
Position Mission
Under the direction of the Director of College, Career, and Military Readiness (CCMR), this position strategically coordinates, monitors, and facilitates a quality CTE program aligned with district goals, long-range CTE plans, and comprehensive local needs assessments. The Coordinator provides district-level instructional leadership, supports the implementation of the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS), and facilitates work-based learning, curriculum frameworks, and industry-based certifications while analyzing data to support special student populations.
Position Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from Accredited University (Master's Preferred)
- Certification in school administration (Preferred)
- Minimum 5 years of CTE classroom teaching experience
- Valid Texas CTE teaching certificate
- Knowledge of curriculum and instruction
- Working knowledge of federal and state code governing career and technical education

Program Development & Evaluation
- Assist the CCMR Director in planning and developing responsive CTE programs that meet Perkins V requirements for high-skill, high-wage, and in-demand occupations.
- Evaluate student achievement data and program findings systematically to gauge effectiveness and inform instructional improvements.
- Engage with district departments, campus personnel, business/industry, and higher education partners to create robust CTE Programs of Study.
- Assist campuses in the creation and implementation of Master Schedules to optimize CTE instructional programs.
- Collaborate with the Curriculum and Instruction (C&I) team to ensure continuous curriculum renewal responsive to student needs.
- Provide professional development to administration on collecting and evaluating CTE performance data to close achievement gaps.
Certifications & Academic Pathways
- Establish and ensure adherence to student admission and testing criteria for all CTE licenses and certification programs.
- Assist teachers and administrators with integrating industry-based certification (IBC) requirements into the curriculum.
- Track IBC data tied to state accountability and CCMR outcome bonuses.
- Oversee Dual Credit enrollment and registration for P-TECH and other WECM-related opportunities.
- Act as the primary liaison for P-TECH campuses to ensure compliance with state and local program initiatives.
Student Support & Educational Placement
- Monitor student selection and placement in CTE programs to ensure progress toward "Completer" status.
- Support CCMR Advisors in developing career pathways, coherent course sequencing, and four-year plans.
- Identify local job opportunities and assist with post-secondary placement for students.
- Provide career exploration resources, college information, and scholarship data to HS Advisors and MS Counselors.
- Support campuses in coordinating student experiences such as career days, field trips, course fairs, and guest speaker events.
Communication & Community Engagement
- Articulate the district's CTE mission to the community to solicit support and encourage parent/community involvement.
- Recruit local employers and businesses to provide work-based learning experiences for students.
- Collaborate with campus administration on CTE Advisory Council initiatives.
- Maintain active partnerships with post-secondary schools and community career agencies.
Policy, Compliance & Reporting
- Audit and approve work-based training sites and program plans to ensure legal compliance and proper documentation.
- Ensure accurate PEIMS coding for all CTE reports, including attendance, enrollment, staff assignments, and IBCs.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
