Job Summary
We are seeking a friendly and organized Host to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be the first point of contact for our guests, ensuring a warm welcome and a smooth dining experience. This role requires excellent communication skills and a passion for hospitality, as you will be responsible for managing reservations, seating guests, and providing exceptional customer service in a fast-paced restaurant environment.
Responsibilities
- Greet guests promptly upon arrival and provide them with a warm welcome.
- Manage the seating chart and ensure efficient seating of guests based on their preferences and party size.
- Answer phone calls with professionalism, assisting with reservations and inquiries.
- Collaborate with servers and bar staff to ensure smooth service flow.
- Handle guest complaints or concerns with empathy and professionalism, striving to resolve issues effectively.
- Keep the host/host area clean and organized at all times.
- Assist in managing waitlists during peak hours while keeping guests informed of wait times.
Skills
- Strong hospitality background with experience in restaurant or hotel settings preferred.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact effectively with guests and team members.
- Customer service-oriented mindset with the ability to create a welcoming atmosphere for all guests.
- Familiarity with OpenTable reservation system is preferred.
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Strong phone etiquette skills for handling reservations and guest inquiries efficiently.
- Team player who can collaborate effectively with others in a busy food service environment.
