Apartment Painter

Position Summary:

The Apartment Painter is responsible for maintaining the appearance and condition of apartment interiors and exteriors through high-quality painting and finishing work. This role ensures that all units are move-in ready, common areas are well maintained, and painting projects are completed safely, efficiently, and with attention to detail.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare apartment units, hallways, and building exteriors for painting by cleaning, sanding, patching, and priming surfaces.
• Apply paint, varnish, stains, and other finishes to walls, ceilings, doors, cabinets, and trim using brushes, rollers, or spray equipment.
• Match paint colors and textures to existing finishes as needed for touch-ups or repairs.
• Maintain painting tools and equipment in clean and working condition.
• Protect flooring, furniture, and fixtures with drop cloths and masking materials.
• Inspect completed work to ensure proper coverage, finish quality, and adherence to safety standards.
• Collaborate with the maintenance and turnover teams to complete unit make-ready tasks on schedule.
• Report needed repairs, material shortages, or unsafe conditions to the Maintenance Supervisor.
• Follow all safety procedures and use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 1–3 years of professional painting experience, preferably in residential or multifamily properties.
• Knowledge of proper surface preparation, paint types, and application techniques.
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
• Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs, climb ladders, and stand for extended periods.
• Reliable transportation and valid driver’s license (if required by employer).

Preferred Skills:

• Experience with drywall repair and texturing.
• Familiarity with apartment turnover processes.
• Basic knowledge of safety regulations and OSHA standards.
