Duties
- Safely ascend trees using rigging techniques and climbing gear to perform pruning, trimming, and removal tasks
- Operate bucket trucks and bucket lifts to access hard-to-reach branches for precise tree care
- Implement rigging procedures to control the safe lowering of large limbs or debris during trimming or removal
- Conduct GIS (Geographic Information System) mapping to document tree locations and health status for maintenance planning
- Assist with landscape maintenance activities such as lawn care, planting, and general landscaping improvements
- Apply horticultural principles to assess tree health, identify pests or diseases, and recommend appropriate treatments
- Collaborate with team members on land clearing projects, ensuring safety protocols are followed at all times
Qualifications
- Proven growing experience with trees, shrubs, and landscape plants; background in horticulture is highly valued
- Strong knowledge of tree care practices including pruning, trimming, and disease management
- Skilled in rigging techniques for safe tree work at various heights
- Experience operating bucket trucks and bucket lifts safely and efficiently
- Familiarity with GIS technology for mapping and documentation purposes
- Ability to perform physically demanding outdoor work in various weather conditions
- Valid certifications or training in tree climbing safety standards preferred (such as ANSI Z133)
