Maintenance Technician

About the Role

The Maintenance Technician plays a critical role in ensuring the reliability and efficiency of our high-speed production operations. This position is responsible for maintaining, repairing, and optimizing equipment to support safe, consistent, and high-quality manufacturing performance. The ideal candidate demonstrates strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to minimizing downtime.

Key Responsibilities

• Respond promptly to equipment service requests and support production operators.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical issues on high-speed manufacturing machinery.
• Perform corrective and preventive maintenance, including standard adjustments, settings, alignments, and part replacements.
• Conduct safety and quality inspections according to Standard Operating Procedures.
• Start up and run machines following repairs to verify successful resolution.
• Rebuild sub-assemblies as needed to maintain sufficient inventory.
• Monitor equipment for signs of wear or safety concerns and report issues promptly.

Requirements

• Minimum 5 years’ experience in a high-speed manufacturing environment performing corrective and preventive maintenance, preferably within cigarette manufacturing, or a 2-year degree in Industrial Systems, Mechanical Technology, or a related field.
• Proven ability to diagnose and repair machinery issues quickly and accurately.
• Skilled in the use of various hand and power tools.
• Experience with work-order systems such as Maximo preferred.
• Must be at least 21 years old.
• Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to pass written and hands-on mechanical reasoning and aptitude assessments.
• Flexibility to work any shift (1st, 2nd, or 3rd) including weekends and overtime as needed.
• Comfortable working at heights and climbing ladders.
