Job Overview
Fence Installer is a full-time, on-site role based in Lynden, WA. This position is responsible for installing a variety of fencing types, including wood, chain-link, vinyl, and other materials, according to project specifications and safety standards. Day-to-day tasks include measuring and marking layouts, digging post holes, setting posts, mixing and pouring concrete, attaching panels or wire, and ensuring fences are level, secure, and aligned. The role involves operating hand and power tools, loading and unloading materials, and maintaining a clean and organized job site. The Fence Installer will work closely with crew members, follow instructions from supervisors, interact professionally with customers, and may assist with basic repairs, maintenance, and occasional service calls.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the installation of various types of fences, including wood, vinyl, chain-link, and ornamental styles.
- Prepare job sites by measuring, marking, and setting up materials according to project specifications.
- Use hand tools and power tools such as drills, saws, post drivers, and welding equipment to assemble fence components.
- Perform heavy lifting of materials like posts, panels, concrete blocks, and other fencing supplies safely and efficiently.
- Assist with concrete forming and finishing tasks for fence posts or related structures.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area by removing debris and ensuring safety protocols are followed at all times.
- Support landscape maintenance or hardscape tasks as needed to ensure project completion on time.
Skills
- Experience with basic construction, carpentry, or outdoor manual labor, including comfortable use of hand and power tools.
- Ability to perform physically demanding work, such as lifting heavy materials, digging, carrying posts, and working in various weather conditions.
- Strong attention to detail in measuring, leveling, and following installation plans or drawings.
- Reliable transportation to Lynden, WA job site and a consistent, punctual work ethic.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to follow instructions and work safely with others.
- Commitment to job site safety practices and proper use of personal protective equipment.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record preferred; ability to drive company vehicles or trailers is a plus.
- Previous fence installation or related construction experience is preferred but not required; willingness to learn and follow training is essential.
Pay: $24.00 - $34.00 per hour
