Summary/Purpose
Supervise a team of engineers and engineering technicians (TME) providing 24/7 floor support to manufacturing. Lead Lean Manufacturing Activities with cross functional teams.
Essential Duties and Accountabilities:
- Schedule and allocate ME resources to support manufacturing as required.
- Support trial activity and launch operations as required.
- Support attainment of departmental Hoshin objectives.
- Promote and adhere to all quality, health, safety, and environmental standards.
- Perform activities of engineers as required.
- Work daily overtime and Saturdays and/or Sundays when directed by immediate manager or, as necessary, to complete essential job duties.
- Perform other duties as assigned
- This position is responsible for leading a team comprised of hourly Technicians and salaried Engineers in accordance with policies and procedures.
- CNC/PLC equipment and tooling/fixture experience
- Ability to read and interpret product and equipment drawings including GD&T.
- Automated assembly systems experience desired.
- Automotive manufacturing experience – 3 yrs
- Basic knowledge of applicable quality, health, safety, and environmental management system
Education and Experience:
- BSMET/EET/EE/ME Degree Preferred, or equivalent experience as determined by Departmental Leadership
- Leadership experience of professional and technical staff preferred.
- Sit with intermittent walking
- Manual dexterity for such duties as stapling, collating, sorting, filing, typing, and writing
- Communicate (hearing and speech) with individuals in person and by phone/computer
- Visually read reports, computer screen, etc.
- Maintain a minimum of 8 hours worked/day, 5 days/week
