1 REPORTING RELATIONSHIP
Reports to the Maintenance Team Leader.
2 PURPOSE
2.1 Function
2.1.1 To install/repair/remove plant equipment and maintain the building
facilities and grounds;
2.1.2 To assist in brainstorming improvement activities relating to
equipment and tooling;
2.1.3 To update machine drawings and documentation as appropriate;
2.1.4 To develop assist in developing effective PM’s;
2.1.5 To complete and / or assign work orders in the MVP system for
activities requested or completed;
2.1.6 To complete weld technician duties for touching up and writing
welding programs
2.1.7 To perform and act as a team to support the needs of the
organization as determined.
2.2 Authority
2.2.1 Repair and maintain plant equipment, lock-out/tag-out, and other
safety related items in a timely manner;
2.2.2 Request materials as needed for assigned projects;
2.2.3 Make recommendations for improvements to equipment;
2.2.4 Make recommendations for improvements to new equipment
during the debugging process.
3 Duties And Responsibilities
3.1 At the direction of the Maintenance Supervisor and Maintenance Team Leader, install, repair, remove plant equipment, and conduct preventative maintenance on machines as scheduled;
3.2 First call troubleshooting of equipment and tooling on lines
3.3 Assist the safety committee in getting safety violation corrected;
3.4 At the direction of the Maintenance Supervisor and Maintenance Team Leader, contact vendors to locate and order repair parts;
3.5 Participate on problem solving teams to help rectify quality or production problems;
3.6 Utilize MVP to document maintenance activities and spare parts tracking;
3.7 Perform other duties as directed by supervision.
CLASSES And Additional Responsibilities
3.8 Electrical Technician
3.8.1 The Electrical Technician position encompasses all areas of responsibility of the Maintenance Associate but primary focus is with PLC programming. This position is the plant “expertise” for PLC program and primary responsibility is project driven. Projects include programming for new launch activities, plant wide programming changes, safety updates and higher-level program troubleshooting.
4 MEASUREMENTS/COMPETENCIES
4.1 Ability to troubleshoot and repair equipment.
4.2 Ability to systematically disassemble and reassemble equipment.
4.3 Verbal and written communication skills.
4.4 Teamwork.
4.5 MVP proficiency.
4.6 PLC programming troubleshooting ability.
4.7 Robotic programming (weld) ability.
4.8 Ability to work safely and efficiently.
5 SUPERVISOR RESPONSIBILITY
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
Requirements
6 WORK ENVIRONMENT
The employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. May occasionally work in hot or cold temperatures. May occasionally walk on slippery or uneven surfaces. May be required to work in high, precarious places, near fumes or airborne particles or chemicals, work in outside weather conditions, including extreme cold or extreme heat, and with risk of electrical shock.
7 Qualifications
7.1 High school diploma or equivalent.
7.2 Additional technical training in electrical, electronics, pneumatics, hydraulics, welding cutting, brazing, PLC.
7.3 Ability to read electrical/electronic, hydraulic and pneumatic schematics.
7.4 Ability to use and read measuring devices such as tape measure, ruler,
caliper, ohm meter, thermometer, voltmeter, pressure gage, etc.
7.5 Minimum Five-year Experience In Industrial Maintenance.
7.6 PLC experience preferred (Required for Electrical Technician).
7.7 Welding And Fabrication Experience Preferred.
7.8 Basic machining skills preferred.
8 PHYSICAL DEMANDS
8.1 Regularly lift up to 30 pounds and 50 pounds occasionally.
8.2 Frequent and repetitive hand movements, including grasping, squeezing, and pulling.
8.3 Ability to stand for extended periods.
8.4 Bend, stoop/squat, crouch, stand and walk intermittently throughout the work day.
8.5 Regularly possess manual dexterity to put parts or pieces together quickly and accurately.
8.6 Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
8.7 Use hands/fingers to handle or feel (Operate, Activate, Use, Prepare, Inspect, Place, Detect, and Position).
8.8 Ability to continuously stand or walk. Ability to bend, squat and climb stairs.
8.9 Vision abilities, including using close vision, distance vision, and depth perception.
9 POSITION TYPE/EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK
This is a full time position. Typical days and hours of work are Monday through Friday.
This position regularly requires extended hours and possible weekend work.

Travel may be required.
