Position Description:
JTEC Consulting is hiring ADVANA Data Engineers to support a DoD program. Qualified candidates will have current/recent experience on the ADVANA platform and expertise with ETL, Databricks, Python, Spark, Scala, JavaScript/JSON, and SQL.
Duties and responsibilities include:
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including data analysts, architects and mission stakeholders to translate requirements into technical solutions.
- Design, develop, and implement end-to-end data pipelines utilizing ETL processes and technologies such as Databricks, Python, Spark, Scala, JavaScript/JSON, SQL, and Jupyter Notebooks
- Build and optimize data pipelines from scratch, ensuring scalability, reliability, and performance.
- Conduct data cleansing, data integration, validation, and data quality assurance to ensure accuracy and integrity across large, diverse datasets.
- Apply big data technologies to process and analyze high-volume datasets commonly encountered in a federal environments.
- Diagnose and resolve complex data issues, providing innovative, efficient solutions to support mission-critical operations.
- Contribute to best practices, documentation, and continuous improvement of data engineering processes.
- Support hybrid schedule 2-3 days per week on-site.
Education and qualifications:
- U.S. citizenship (no dual citizenship)
- Current security clearance (Secret at a minimum)
- 5 years of experience as a Data Engineer with demonstrated experience creating data pipelines from scratch.
- Recent experience and proficiency working on the ADVANA platform is a must.
- High level of proficiency in ETL development.
- Hands-on experience with Databricks, Python, Spark, Scala, JavaScript/JSON, and SQL.
- Proven experience working with large datasets and leveraging big data technologies for efficient processing and analysis.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills to excel in a blended government and contractor team environment.
- Ability to work on-site (2-3 days per week)
Preferred Experience:
- Experience with data governance, metadata management, or data cataloging tools is a plus.
- Familiarity with Air Force or DoD data systems is highly desirable.
