Role Description
We are seeking motivated Account Managers to represent JT Meleck in the Dallas and Houston markets.
This is a 1099 independent contractor position offering competitive commissions and the opportunity to build your own book of business.
The ideal candidate is an outgoing, results-driven relationship builder who thrives in on- and off-premise sales environments. You’ll work closely with distributor partners, manage key retail accounts, and execute tastings and activations that bring the JT Meleck story to life.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain strong, lasting relationships with retail and on-premise accounts
- Drive new business development and increase sales volume within assigned territories
- Collaborate with distributor partners to strengthen market execution and visibility
- Organize and oversee in-store tastings, events, and promotions
- Recruit, train, and manage local tasting teams and brand ambassadors
- Negotiate placements and manage account activations
- Monitor market activity and identify opportunities for brand growth
- Educate customers and staff on product details, brand story, and key selling points
- Handle account inquiries and provide exceptional service and follow-through
Qualifications
- Sales experience is required — ideally in consumer goods or spirits/beverage
- Liquor/spirits industry experience is a strong plus
- Proven track record in relationship-based sales or account management
- Knowledge of off-premise retail sales (liquor stores, grocery, etc.)
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Self-starter who thrives independently while collaborating with a team
- Ability to plan, staff, and manage multiple tastings or events simultaneously
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or related field preferred
