About:

• Serving the region for over 43 years
• 48-bed critical access hospital, 6 clinics, LTC facility

Location:

• Population of approx 6,500, about an hour from Anchorage
• Regional commercial port town
• Serving the villages and local communities in the delta region

Summary:

• Work under the direction of the laboratory manager
• Tech is responsible for performing lab tests, quality control, communicate with physicians, nurses and patients.

Requirements of the Medical Tech, Lab Tech:

• Bachelor’s degree in medical technology or a related field
• Board eligible by NCA or ASCP, complete board certification within a year of hire
• Certification at MT by American Society of Clinical Pathologists (ASCP) or CLS by National Accrediting Agency (NCA) within one year of employment
• Clinical laboratory instrumentation
• Hospital Laboratory generalist
• 1-3 years’ hospital laboratory experience - chemistry, blood bank, hematology, microbiology or formal student internship
