Summary:

Reporting to the Vice President of Information Technology, the incumbent owns the day-to-day administration, security, and reliability of JT Logistics enterprise infrastructure and identity systems, and designs, builds, and maintains AI-assisted automations and internal applications that eliminate manual work across the organization. This is a hybrid systems administration and applied software engineering role: approximately half of the work is traditional infrastructure ownership, and half is building automation, integrations, and internal tooling using AI development platforms, scripting, and modern web technologies. The incumbent serves JT Logistics and any associated companies or subsidiaries.

Supervisory Responsibility:

This job has no supervisory responsibilities. The incumbent is expected to provide technical direction and mentorship to service desk staff.

Essential Job Functions:

Systems and Infrastructure Administration ( 35 %)

• Administer, patch, monitor, and troubleshoot Windows Server and Linux environments, hypervisor hosts, and virtual machine infrastructure across all enterprise sites.

• Own backup, replication, and disaster recovery operations, including scheduled restore testing and documented recovery procedures.

• Administer Microsoft 365 and the enterprise identity platform, including Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams, Intune, and endpoint configuration.

• Maintain enterprise monitoring and alerting; respond to and resolve infrastructure alerts, and reduce recurring alert volume through root cause remediation.

• Support network operations in coordination with the VP of IT, including firewall, switching, and wireless changes, and site connectivity troubleshooting.

• Participate in a shared on-call rotation for critical infrastructure and after-hours incidents.

AI-Enabled Automation and Internal Application Development ( 30 %)

• Design, build, test, and maintain internal applications and workflow automations using AI development tools and large language model APIs.

• Build and maintain API and EDI integrations between enterprise systems including the warehouse management system, transportation management system, human capital management platform, accounting system, and identity provider.

• Convert manual, spreadsheet-based, and paper-based business processes into supported, documented, automated workflows.

• Write, review, and maintain production code in the enterprise standard stack, including relational database schemas, background job processing, and front-end interfaces.

• Apply source control, code review, environment separation, and release discipline to all internally developed software.

• Evaluate new AI capabilities and tooling, and recommend practical, cost-justified applications to the VP of IT.

Identity, Security, and Access Management ( 20 %)

• Serve as one of a limited number of privileged administrators for the enterprise directory, cloud tenant, and core infrastructure platforms.

• Administer identity lifecycle processes including automated provisioning, role-based access assignment, and timely deprovisioning of separated employees.

• Implement and maintain security controls including multi-factor authentication, conditional access, privileged access management, endpoint protection, and email security.

• Support audit, customer security questionnaire, and cyber insurance requirements by producing evidence, documentation, and remediation plans.

• Investigate and respond to security events and escalations, and participate in incident response activities.

Escalation Support, Documentation, and Project Delivery ( 15 %)

• Serve as the highest level of technical escalation for service desk tickets that cannot be resolved at tier one or tier two.

• Document all systems, configurations, integrations, and recurring procedures in the enterprise knowledge base to a standard that allows another qualified technician to execute the work.

• Deliver assigned infrastructure and automation projects on committed timelines, and report status, risks, and blockers proactively.

• Support new site openings, customer onboardings, and facility moves, including infrastructure standup and system configuration.

• Ability to effectively communicate orally and in writing, including translating technical concepts for non-technical business stakeholders

• Strong attention to detail

• Logical, systematic, and sequential problem-solving skills

Qualifications:

Qualifications:

• 5 years of full-time work experience in systems administration or systems engineering, including Windows Server, directory services, and virtualization

• 3 years of full-time work experience administering Microsoft 365 and a cloud identity platform

• 2 years of full-time work experience automating or scripting administrative and business processes

• Demonstrated experience building working software or automations with AI development tools or large language model APIs, evidenced by a portfolio, repository, or practical exercise

• Working knowledge of networking fundamentals including routing, switching, VLANs, DNS, DHCP, and firewall policy

• High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor degree in a related field preferred

• Preferred: experience with Linux, containerization, relational databases, REST API and EDI integration, and web application development

• Preferred: prior experience in logistics, warehousing, distribution, manufacturing, or another multi-site operating environment
