What are the responsibilities and job description for the Purchasing Coordinator position at JT Custom Builders?
About you:
Are you detail-oriented? Have you worked in the homebuilding industry and understand the various parts and pieces that are used in residential construction?
You will need to have:
- a strong attention to detail
- a track record of meeting deadlines
- thorough knowledge of residential construction estimating
- field experience is a plus
- you must have been in a role previously where you sent purchase orders and/or bid requests
About the position:
As a Purchasing Coordinator:
- you will review plans and designs to assist with Specifications development for each project
- you will send and track bid requests to Trade Partners with all detail needed for accurate pricing to be returned
- you will compile bid and pricing data by established deadline to review with Management
- you will send purchase orders
- you will work with our team to improve the bidding and estimating process
- you will assemble detailed order sheets to work with all direct-buy initiatives
- you will assist with the up-front Pre-Construction work necessary to facilitate a smooth handoff from Office to Field
- other estimating and purchasing functions as needed
Desired qualification:
- Experience in a new homes purchasing role where you processed purchase orders, bids, pricing negotiations, or similar.
