What are the responsibilities and job description for the Environmental Utility Operator position at JSW Steel USA?
We are seeking an energetic, safety conscious, reliable individual to join our Environmental team!
This position will work under the direct supervision of the Environmental & Utilities Operations Supervisor. In this position, candidates are expected to assist in the operations and maintenance of air pollution control equipment, conduct safe and proper handling of hazardous materials, conduct environmental sampling & inspections, and assist with the operations of water treatment and other utility operations.
Job Responsibilities:
· Comply with all JSW Health, Safety, and Environmental policies and safe operating procedures
· Monitor, operate, troubleshoot, and assist with maintenance of air pollution control and water treatment, and utilities facilities
· Assist with the planning & execution of maintenance tasks
· Conduct environmental inspections, sampling, visible emission observations, and documentation / recordkeeping as required by operating permits and regulations
· Coordinate waste handling, RCRA/DOT manifesting, and shipping activities
· Operate mobile equipment as required
· Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
· High school diploma or GED.
· Hands on experience with mechanical aptitude
· Willingness to obtain required certifications and training (inc. visible emissions testing, USDOT, RCRA, etc.)
· Must be willing and able to pass a respirator fit test.
· Ability to work shifts including overnight, holidays, and weekends
· Able to use computers, smart tablets, read HMI screens
· Heavy industrial or steel industry experience preferred
