POSITION OVERVIEW:

The Sustainability Compliance Manager serves as a strategic leader in ensuring organizational adherence to state, federal, and international sustainable fuel regulations. This role involves cross-functional collaboration across all levels of the organization to oversee the coordination, verification, and management of compliance-related data and documentation. The manager also plays a key role in supporting and guiding internal and external audits, inspections, and regulatory engagements to uphold the company’s sustainability commitments.


RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Oversee the collection, organization, and maintenance of compliance-related data and documentation in accordance with state, federal, and international sustainable fuel regulations.
  • Utilize enterprise systems and databases to manage and ensure the integrity of compliance records and reporting workflows.
  • Research and resolve disputes that support mass balance reporting, shipment declarations, and other strategic trade decisions.
  • Analyze supply chain risks and develop mitigation plans related to regulatory changes and sustainability requirements.
  • Conduct thorough reviews to validate the accuracy and completeness of compliance documentation, ensuring alignment with internal standards and external regulatory requirements.
  • Coordinate the preparation and submission of all required documentation for outbound shipments, ensuring timely and compliant delivery.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for regulatory agencies and industry partners regarding sustainability compliance.
  • Represent the organization in relevant meetings, conferences, workshops, and training sessions to remain informed of emerging trends and regulatory developments in sustainable fuel programs.
  • Lead and support the management of internal and external data requests, certifications, audits, inspections, and other compliance-related activities.
  • Leverage railcar reporting systems to proactively detect and address shipment discrepancies or delays, ensuring the integrity and timeliness of chain of custody documentation.
  • Provide support to the Trade Execution team and contribute to cross-functional initiatives as needed.


ADMINISTRATION AND COMMUNICATION

  • Strong understanding of business and ability to operate within business systems applications.
  • Have a continuous improvement mindset and seek and recommend a more efficient and effective work process.
  • Maintain organized shipment records for compliance purposes.


KNOWLEDGE, ABILITIES AND SKILLS DESIRED

  • Minimum 5 years of progressive experience in supply chain, logistics, or compliance, including 3 years in a leadership role.
  • Excellent computer acumen, strong MS Excel skills required.
  • Must possess strong problem-solving skills.
  • Must be highly organized with a high degree of accuracy.
  • Associate or bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Proven work or life experience that demonstrates the ability to work well as a member of a team.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
