Position Details

• Location: Newark, NJ (Hybrid)
• Type: Contract to Hire
• Client: Leading financial firm

Pay

• $60 - $65 per hour on W2, depending on experience
• No C2C

About the Role

• Partner with product owners, tech leads, designers, engineers, and delivery professionals
• Code, test, and debug new and existing applications to solve complex business problems
• Help deliver innovative products, services, and customer experiences in an agile environment

Responsibilities

• Build applications using current coding practices, modern design patterns, and sound architectural principles
• Develop high quality, well documented, and efficient code that meets company standards
• Work with product owners to define feature stories and with tech leads on technical design
• Write unit tests, integration tests, and functional automation
• Research and resolve issues found by QA or product support
• Stay current on emerging technologies and share feedback and ideas with the team
• Analyze data and solve problems of varying scope

Required Skills

• Strong hands-on experience with React.js (hooks, state management, component-based architecture)
• Backend development experience with Node.js (Express/NestJS) and RESTful API design
• Experience with Spring Boot and Java
• Proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript across the full stack
• Experience designing and integrating REST/GraphQL APIs and microservices
• Hands-on experience with AWS services (EC2, S3, API Gateway, Lambda)
• Docker containerization and deployment to AWS ECS or EKS
• CI/CD pipelines and automated deployments in AWS
• Understanding of cloud infrastructure concepts (VPC, IAM, load balancing, auto scaling)
• Database experience with PostgreSQL, MongoDB, or other NoSQL, including query optimization
• Monitoring and logging tools such as CloudWatch
