Business Analyst – Fixed Income Asset Management
Location: Newark, NJ (Hybrid – 2–3 days onsite per week)
Type: Long-Term Contract
Compensation: Pay is open | W2 only (no C2C)
Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented Business Analyst with a strong background in Fixed Income Asset Management to join a major financial firm. This role sits at the intersection of business and technology, partnering closely with portfolio managers, analysts, and quants to ensure business requirements are clearly defined and successfully delivered.

Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with portfolio managers, analysts, and stakeholders to gather, analyze, and document business requirements
- Translate business needs into clear technical specifications for development teams
- Support implementation and enhancement of fixed income front office systems and tools
- Participate in User Acceptance Testing (UAT) to ensure solutions meet business expectations
- Develop and maintain documentation including functional specs, use cases, and process flows
- Work with project managers and cross-functional teams to manage timelines and deliverables
Required Qualifications:
- 3–10 years of experience as a Business Analyst within financial services
- Strong understanding of fixed income products (bonds, derivatives, etc.)
- Experience working with front office stakeholders (trading, portfolio management, research)
- Ability to translate complex business requirements into technical specifications
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and standard BA tools
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with portfolio management systems such as Aladdin (or similar)
- Exposure to trading environments or prior trading desk experience
- Familiarity with data management, reporting tools, and regulatory requirements in asset management
