What are the responsibilities and job description for the Maintenance Technician position at JSK Hospitality- Louisville Marriott Properties?
We are seeking a reliable, hardworking Maintenance Technician to join our team and support two Marriott properties: the Courtyard Louisville Northeast and Residence Inn Louisville Northeast.
This position is responsible for helping maintain the overall condition, safety, and functionality of both hotels. The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical aptitude, basic maintenance experience, and a willingness to learn. We are willing to train the right candidate who has a solid foundation in general maintenance and a positive, dependable attitude.
What You'll Do
- Perform routine repairs and preventive maintenance throughout both hotel properties
- Respond to maintenance requests from guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house spaces
- Assist with basic plumbing repairs, including leaks, faucets, toilets, drains, and other fixtures
- Perform drywall repairs, patching, painting, and general cosmetic maintenance
- Assist with HVAC troubleshooting and basic maintenance
- Complete work orders in a timely and professional manner
- Inspect guest rooms and common areas to identify maintenance needs and potential safety concerns
- Assist with preventive maintenance programs and routine equipment inspections
- Support larger repair, renovation, and improvement projects as needed
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace and properly care for tools and equipment
- Communicate effectively with hotel leadership and other departments
- Respond to urgent maintenance issues and assist with emergency repairs when necessary
- Follow all company safety policies and procedures
What We're Looking For
- Previous experience in hotel maintenance, apartment maintenance, facilities maintenance, or a similar field is preferred
- Basic knowledge or experience in plumbing, HVAC, drywall repair, and painting is strongly preferred
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Ability to use common hand and power tools safely
- A willingness to learn and develop additional technical skills
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
- Strong attention to detail and pride in quality workmanship
- Good communication and customer service skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Weekend availability is required
- Must be able to work a consistent mid-shift schedule
- Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull maintenance equipment and supplies and perform the physical requirements of the position
