What are the responsibilities and job description for the Accounting Auditor position at JSJ LLC?
Core Responsibilities
1. Book Cleanup & Remediation (Initial Priority)
- Review historical accounting across multiple entities
- Identify and correct balance sheet and P&L issues
- Reconcile all key accounts (cash, AR/AP, payroll, loans, equity, intercompany)
- Ensure books are complete, accurate, and defensible
- Partner with leadership to resolve legacy accounting gaps
Cleanup completion is tied to a defined bonus structure.
2. Oversight & Quality Control
- Review work prepared by accounting staff
- Establish review standards, controls, and documentation requirements
- Own month-end close accuracy and timelines
- Serve as final internal checkpoint for financial integrity
3. SOP Design & Accounting Infrastructure
- Create and document accounting SOPs including:
- Month-end close and reconciliation procedures
- Chart of accounts standardization
- Intercompany accounting
- New entity setup
- Expense classification and documentation standards
- Implement systems that prevent future cleanup needs
- Ensure scalability as new entities are launched
4. CPA & Tax Readiness Support
- Prepare clean, reconciled financials for annual state and federal tax filings
- Coordinate directly with external CPA/accounting attorney
- Respond to CPA questions and support tax return preparation
- Ensure books are tax-ready and delivered on time
This role does not prepare or file tax returns, but is responsible for the accuracy and completeness of the financials provided.

Assignement Length: 6-9 months
