Position Overview:
As an OSP Designer, you will be responsible for planning and creating high-quality designs for new FTTx build-outs, ensuring compliance with technical standards and project timelines. You will collaborate closely with engineering, construction, and permitting teams to deliver accurate designs for buried, underground, and aerial fiber applications.
Responsibilities
- Interpret maps, drawings, and diagrams for Telecom/FTTx OSP construction projects.
- Create and review fiber assignments, high-level designs, and low-level designs.
- Communicate effectively with project managers, permitting teams, and field personnel to meet deadlines and client expectations while adhering to JSI standards.
- Maintain accuracy and quality in deliverables through continuous process and skill improvement.
- Complete other related duties as assigned by manager or supervisor.
Required Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED.
- Experience with telecommunications OSP design, engineering, and deliverable production.
- Working knowledge of computer-aided drafting and design software such as AutoCAD.
- Intermediate skills in Microsoft Office and Adobe Acrobat.
- Highly organized, self-motivated, and detail-oriented.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- US Citizenship or Permanent Resident status.
- Post-secondary degree in engineering, GIS, or a related field.
- GIS experience (ArcGIS or QGIS).
