Machinist

Johnson Service Group (JSG) is a nationally recognized recruiting firm that is currently seeking Machinists for a manufacturer that supports the aerospace industry in Ladson, SC.

Compensation: $23.00/hr plus a $1.00/hr shift differential once moved to off shift. Additional opportunity for increases via on-the-job training.

Shift Information

• Training on 1st shift (Mon - Fri, 7:00am - 3:30pm)

• Once training is completed, the employee will be moved to 2nd or 3rd shift. At a minimum, a month's notice will be provided.
• 2nd shift (3:00pm - 11:30pm, Mon - Fri)
• 3rd shift (11:00pm to 7:30am Sunday - Friday)
• Additional increases available as you complete certain levels of on-the-job training.
  
  

Responsibilities

• Working from layouts and dimensions on drawings and reading manual gauges
• Load, align, set up machines per drawing instructions and maintain quality production records.
  
  

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Prior machining background is required, or a graduate of machining or toolmaker program.
• Prior exposure to blueprints is ideal.
• Must possess strong math skills (decimal conversion and geometry).
• Previously used hand tools to include gauges.
• Will be required to complete a standard company-specific mechanical skills assessment.
• Must be able to pass pre-employment checks (drug testing, background and visual exam)
• Dependable with an eager attitude and willingness to learn
• Maintain consistency and take pride in your work
• Demonstrated ability to solve problems and enjoys troubleshooting
