Salary: $120,000 – $134,000 annually
Support nuclear projects as a Licensing Engineer 3 (SGI), providing regulatory guidance and licensing support under occasional supervision. What You Need
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, or Science (advanced degree preferred).
- 6 years of nuclear licensing or regulatory affairs experience (nuclear power plants, reactor suppliers, or architect-engineering firms). Navy nuclear or legal/regulatory backgrounds may also be considered.
- Experience with direct interactions with regulatory agencies preferred.
- Knowledge of nuclear safety and licensing requirements, including 10 CFR 50 Appendix B, 10 CFR 21, and NQA-1 preferred.
- Eligibility to work under DOE 10 CFR Part 810 regulations.
- Provide regulatory and licensing guidance for assigned nuclear projects under Safeguard Information (SGI) guidelines.
- SGI is a special category of sensitive unclassified information that must be protected. SGI concerns the physical protection of operating power reactors, spent fuel shipments, strategic special nuclear material, or other radioactive material.
- Develop and maintain licensing programs and schedules.
- Prepare, review, and submit licensing documents to ensure compliance with regulatory strategy, commitments, and statutory requirements.
- Support internal engineering, test, and safety teams on licensing and regulatory activities.
- Interface with regulatory agencies and participate in regulatory engagements.
- Assist in developing, implementing, and maintaining standardized processes and procedures for compliance and efficiency.
- Support industry initiatives and allocate work and project schedules.
- Travel domestically and internationally as required.
