Johnson Service Group is helping one of our clients fill two Revenue Analyst positions in Chattanooga, Tennessee. These positions will begin as contract assignments (currently extended to late January of 2026). The positions offer weekly pay on a W-2 basis with a target pay rate range of $37.00-$42.00/hour depending upon experience. Functions And Responsibilities
- Perform as an experienced accounting professional with a detailed understanding of revenue financial systems (Oracle and IEE), accounts receivable, invoicing, products, contract interpretation, revenue reporting, electric power fundamentals, electric utility rate application, and accounting practices for revenue and receivables
- Develop knowledge of system integration, and perform accounting assignments in other areas to continue professional growth and diversity
- Exercise responsibility for the development and implementation of various companywide accounting controls that ensure the reliability of financial records including oversight and authorization of financial transactions, application of accounting and reporting procedures, and design and analysis of processes to accurately record and report organization's financial position in accordance with Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) and other SEC guidelines
- Provide detailed analytical input, develop methodologies, apply controls, and analyze results of the accounting, revenue, and financial reporting cycles
- Exercise autonomy in consulting with and advising accounting and/or financial management regarding accounting controls
- Regularly exercise professional judgment by providing the interpretation and application of accounting guidance and the impact on organization’s goals, objectives, results of operations, and financial performance
- Analyze financial instruments, contracts, operational results, and business transactions for accounting implications such as rate application and revenue recognition and advise management on the proper accounting treatment
- Identify risk, assess the implications, and identify revenue and billing control objectives to mitigate organization's exposure
- Provide consultation with only minimal supervisory input about the defined area of accounting expertise and operate independently with the option to consult a supervisor or senior accounting analysts in other areas of accounting
- Independently develop control objectives and apply accounting theory and industry standards to complex problems for management decision making
- Effectively communicate and problem solve in a fast-paced environment during the billing cycle and exhibit responsibility for more complex customer accounts
- Participate on teams in all areas and often serve as team lead
- Candidates must be U.S. citizens or permanent residents with the ability to remain and work in the U.S. without sponsorship
- Minimum of a bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field of study OR equivalent years of relevant professional experience
- Demonstrated understanding of accounting procedures and controls, client billing, and accounts receivable processes
- Demonstrated experience with Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX), SEC, and similar regulations and requirements
- Experience with automated financial systems such as Integrated Enterprise Excellence (IEE) and Oracle
