Position: Low Voltage Technician
Responsibilities
As a Low Voltage Technician at JSET, you will be responsible for executing complex low-voltage installations and ensuring systems are properly configured, tested, and commissioned. Key responsibilities include:
- Installing and connecting low-voltage electrical systems, including wiring and cables for data, telecommunications, and control systems.
- Configuring systems based on blueprints, schematics, and other technical guides.
- Installing and terminating various types of control wiring, including CAT5/6, coaxial, and fiber optics.
- Installing electrical conduit, raceways, and enclosures, while ensuring compliance with industry standards.
- Troubleshooting, testing, and commissioning of low-voltage systems to ensure optimal performance.
- Collaborating with other team members and trades to ensure successful project completion.
- Performing overhead work and operating lifts safely to install equipment and cables.
- Minimum 2-3 years of experience in low-voltage systems installation, specifically with structured cabling and related systems.
- In-depth knowledge of low-voltage electrical systems, including CAT5/6, coaxial, fiber optic cabling, and control wiring.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
- Strong experience with terminating and testing cables (fiber optics and copper).
- Familiarity with industry standards and codes (EIA, TIA, BICSI, NEC) and a commitment to maintaining compliance.
- Comfort with overhead installations and working at heights.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills to ensure high-quality work.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 60 pounds independently.
