JS Technology Solutions is a Chicago-based boutique technology consulting firm with longstanding public-sector clients. We are staffing for an upcoming engagement and are evaluating contractors for a multi-month assignment.
Role summary:
- Hybrid Cloud Engineer assigned to a large enterprise Server Operations team
- Design, evaluation, and implementation of cloud services and cloud-native architectures
- Hybrid infrastructure troubleshooting across roughly 1,800 servers (Dell hardware plus Hyper-V virtual servers)
- Compliance and security posture across connected cloud platforms
- Participation in a Windows server 24x7 on-call rotation
Engagement model:
- Contract; W2 or 1099 acceptable
- Hybrid: remote with periodic onsite presence at a Chicago location
- Schedule: 9 AM to 5 PM CST, Monday through Friday
- Duration: initial term through June 30, 2026 with extension potential through December 31, 2026
- Hours: 40 per week
Required experience:
- 5 years Windows Server 2008 through 2022 in Hyper-V or System Center Virtual Machine Manager environments
- Microsoft Failover Clustering, Host/OS patching, migrations, Azure administration
- API Management plus Azure Data Factory hands-on
- Comprehensive understanding of PaaS, SaaS, IaaS delivery models
- Comfortable with on-call rotations
Nice to have:
- OpenShift Container Platform plus Kubernetes
- PowerShell, Python, Terraform, C# scripting
- Microsoft Azure Solutions Architect Expert / AWS SysOps / Red Hat OpenShift certifications
