Position Summary
The Senior Vice President of Procurement is responsible for leading the company’s global procurement and sourcing strategy. This executive oversees all purchasing activities, supplier relationships, cost management, and supply chain optimization to ensure the organization achieves maximum value, efficiency, and risk control across all procurement functions.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership
Develop and execute global procurement strategies aligned with corporate business objectives
Lead long-term sourcing strategy for materials, products, and services
Identify cost-saving opportunities and drive enterprise-wide procurement transformation
Supplier Management
Establish and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers and strategic partners
Negotiate high-value contracts and ensure favorable commercial terms
Evaluate supplier performance, compliance, and risk exposure
Cost & Financial Optimization
Drive cost reduction initiatives across all procurement categories
Manage multi-billion-dollar procurement budgets (depending on company size)
Collaborate with finance teams to improve cost forecasting and spend analytics
Supply Chain & Operations Alignment
Work closely with supply chain, logistics, and operations teams to ensure efficiency and continuity
Mitigate supply risks, shortages, and geopolitical or market disruptions
Ensure procurement processes support production and retail demand
Team Leadership
Lead and develop a global procurement organization
Build high-performing teams across regional and category procurement units
Establish training, performance management, and succession planning frameworks
Compliance & Risk Management
Ensure procurement activities comply with legal, regulatory, and ethical standards
Develop supplier governance and audit programs
Manage procurement-related risk including pricing volatility and supply disruptions
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Finance, or related field (MBA preferred)
15 years of experience in procurement, sourcing, or supply chain management
5–10 years in senior executive leadership roles
Proven experience managing large-scale procurement operations
Strong negotiation, financial analysis, and strategic planning skills
