Job Summary
The Director of Business Development (Mission Critical) is the main person who develops and implements strategic growth plans to expand the firm’s presence in the Mission Critical Market. They will lead the effort to identify and pursue new opportunities to drive mission critical revenue growth for JRM.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Coordinate and organize all BD efforts in the Mission Critical Business Unit.
- Work closely with leadership to establish core markets and client targets
- Create Sales strategies and strategic planning
- Lead efforts to research and determine qualified areas to target and projects to chase
- Track, manage, and update all leads in CRM system and provide timely update.
- Provide frequent updates to BU Leads and coordinate the team’s BD efforts
- Generate profitable sales and opportunities for JRM
- Support the firm’s mission and annual strategic planning efforts
- Have strong relationships with clients, owner’s reps, brokers, architects, engineers, and other AEC influencers
- Represent JRM in the marketplace and be active in the AEC Space
- Collaborate with estimating and preconstruction on New Opportunities
- Perform client management and communication with existing and potential new clients.
- Assign internal resources to follow up with respective relationships that may generate revenue
- Manage the full pursuit process from lead to award/loss
- Assist with proposal and RFP responses on high level.
- Assist with completion of RFQ & AIA 305 Documents
- Ability to cold call leads and convert into new business.
- Arrange lunch meetings for BU leads with potential clients
- Coordinate marketing and client outreach events
- Advise on Associations and Networking events for JRM to remain active in the marketplace
- Maintain constant pulse on the marketplace
- Understanding of Construction Contract types and owner contracts risks
- Work closely with Marketing Department on Brand Image
Qualifications and Skills
- Associate's degree at a minimum
- 10 Years’ Experience in AEC Space Sales
- Strong multitasking skills
- Strong negotiation skills
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work with multiple internal departments
- Technical knowledge a plus
Computer Systems
- Excellent computer literacy including experience with Microsoft Office product applications
- CRM Software – Sales Force, Cosential
- Zoom Info and Linked In
Salary Requirements
- To the extent that this position is performed in New York City, the annual salary range for this role is $235,000 - $255,000
