Position Summary
The Data Entry Clerk is responsible for creating, managing, and maintaining accurate part routing information within the JR Metal Works system. This role plays a critical part in ensuring efficient production flow by coordinating with vendors, supporting internal teams, and prioritizing work to meet operational demand. The Data Entry Clerk must be detail-oriented, organized, and capable of working cross-functionally to resolve issues and keep projects moving forward.
Core Responsibilities
- Enter and maintain accurate part routing data in the company system to support production and scheduling needs.
- Request quotes from vendors and actively follow up to ensure timely and competitive responses.
- Communicate effectively with team members across departments to resolve discrepancies or routing issues.
- Prioritize and manage workload based on job urgency and production schedules.
- Identify and escalate potential delays, material issues, or process gaps that could impact production timelines.
- Maintain organized records of quotes, routing updates, and vendor communications.
Qualifications and Skills
- Attention to detail and accuracy, especially with data entry and technical information.
- Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Effective communicative skills, with the ability to interact across all levels of the organization.
- Basic understanding of manufacturing processes (experience preferred but not required).
- Proficiency in computer systems and willingness to learn company-specific software.
