Responsibilities:
- Use visual, mechanical, and electrical testing methods and tools to inspect, evaluate, and document all incoming mechanical and electrical products, machined parts, and sub-assemblies
- Moves inspected material to the proper receiving location (inventory warehouse location, Central inventory cart, chair department, NMR, RI)
- Work with the Quality Control Inspector to maintain records of testing
- Responsible for up-to-date filing of QC-related paperwork, drawings, and part samples
- Provide timely feedback to quality if a non-conforming product is identified, and document all vendor and manufacturing non-conformances.
- Maintain calibration of equipment and ensure it is safe and well-maintained, and discard any that doesn't meet requirements.
- Functions as part of the Final QC team, inspecting the final product for shipment
- Works alongside QC technicians to test electrical chair systems.
- Miscellaneous work activities as required by the Manager.
- Backs up the Quality control inspector
Skills/Qualifications:
- Ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawing specifications, dimensioning, and tolerances.
- High-level knowledge of measuring instruments, gauges, meters, or measuring devices of a specialized nature
- Ability to follow quality standards and processes such as ISO 9001/2015
- Ability to exercise proper judgment to implement changes /fixes to allow for continued production flow
- Ability to work effectively with groups of people from different disciplines in a cooperative effort
- Strong understanding of quality control standards and testing techniques.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy are required
- Strong communication skills (verbal and written)
- Strong organizational skills
- High level of mechanical and electrical aptitude
- Maintaining a clean and safe work environment in the inspection area
Education/Experience:
- High School graduate or equivalent.
- 5 years' experience in mechanical and electrical quality inspection required.
- Basic Computer skills, Excel, and Word knowledge
- Manufacturing experience preferred.
