Hydraulic Crane Operator Kissimmee, FL or surrounding area
Jr. Davis Construction Company Inc. builds roads, bridges and highways that connect our communities! This individual will be responsible for operating cranes and other moving equipment for lifting, moving, or placing loads. JDC is one of the largest heavy highway and civil construction firms in the state with over 900 employees, while still retaining a family business atmosphere. Responsibilities:
- Determine load weights and check them against lifting capacities
- Move levers, depress foot pedals, or turn dials to operate cranes, cherry pickers, electromagnets, or other moving equipment for lifting, moving, or placing loads.
- Inspect and adjust crane mechanisms or lifting accessories to prevent malfunctions or damage.
- Inspect cables or grappling devises for wear and install or replace cables, as needed.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Must hold a valid/current crane operator certification
- 3 recent years’ experience working as a “Hydraulic Crane Operator”
- Active CDL Class “A” license
- Active Driver license.
- Must have a safety first attitude. Strict adherence to safety requirements and procedures is required
- Display a professional and courteous attitude to co-workers, supervisors, and the general public at all times.
- Must be willing to travel and work away from home when required.
- Must be willing to work nights and weekends when necessary.
Knowledge & Skills:
- A high school diploma or general education degree (GED) is preferred.
- Must be able to read and interpret load weights and check them against lifting capacities to prevent overload.
- Ability to listen, follow directions, and have a willingness to continue to enhance skills.
