Digital Marketing Manager

JR Cigar is seeking an experienced Interim Digital Marketing Manager, Retention to lead our email, SMS, and customer lifecycle marketing programs during a parental leave coverage assignment. This individual will oversee an established retention marketing program, lead a small team, and drive initiatives that increase customer retention, repeat purchases, and customer lifetime value.

Key Responsibilities

Lead retention marketing across email and SMS channels.

Execute and optimize lifecycle marketing programs, including welcome, cart abandonment, post-purchase, loyalty, and win-back journeys.

Manage audience segmentation, personalization, campaign planning, and testing strategies.

Monitor and analyze performance metrics, providing actionable insights and recommendations.

Lead and prioritize the work of a small retention marketing team.

Partner with Creative, E-Commerce, Analytics, IT, and external technology vendors to ensure successful campaign execution.

Maintain campaign quality, compliance, deliverability, and list health.

Document key processes, results, and priorities to support a smooth transition upon completion of the assignment.

Required Qualifications

5 years of experience in retention, lifecycle, CRM, digital, or e-commerce marketing.

Hands-on experience managing email and SMS marketing programs in an e-commerce or direct-to-consumer environment.

Experience leading and coaching a team.

Proven success with segmentation, personalization, lifecycle automation, A/B testing, and performance optimization.

Strong understanding of key retention metrics, including customer lifetime value (CLV), repeat purchase rate, conversion, and customer reactivation.

Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate data into business recommendations.

Excellent project management, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Ability to quickly take ownership of an established program and operate independently.

Preferred Qualifications

Hands-on experience with Listrak strongly preferred.

Experience with platforms such as Google Analytics, Power BI, Salesforce, Shopify, BigCommerce, or Yotpo.

Experience with loyalty, subscription, replenishment, or customer reactivation programs.

Previous experience in a contract, consulting, interim, or leave-coverage role.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Communications, Analytics, or a related field preferred. Equivalent experience will be considered.

Work environment and Physical Requirements

This position primally involves computer-based work and participation in virtual or in -person meetings. The employee must be able to communicate effectively and work for extended periods using a computer and related office equipment.
