Job Summary: The Value Analysis Coordinator provides oversight for the coordination of product value analysis within the Tarrant County Hospital District. This position will assist with research, GPO reports, obtaining other information in a continuous effort to ensure cost effective procurement of supplies and results-oriented project outcomes. Working in collaboration with assigned network value analysis teams, this position will coordinate product evaluations and provide the necessary data and analysis to ensure that the network VAC has the information needed to provide clinically acceptable products and services at an optimal price.

Job Description

Essential Job Functions & Accountabilities
- Acts as a facilitator for VAC meetings and subcommittee meetings. Assists in the product and equipment evaluation processes.
- Functions as an objective advisor during product discussions with physicians, clinical staff and evaluation teams with respect to cost versus patient care.
- Works with administration, physicians and department heads to develop products and services requirements list.
- Effectively reviews costs of various categories of materials and services.
- Apprises management and affected departments on status of value analysis projects.
- Works with vendors promptly and courteously. Arranges vendor appointments as needed for assigned VACs.
- Actively promotes teamwork in the Materials Management department and between other areas of the network.
- Works with assigned VAC to ensure the correct contract pricing tier for each vendor in order to maximize discounts and rebates.
- Effectively communicates and maintains liaison between other areas of the network and Materials Management regarding new products and services as established by assigned VAC.
- Assists in creating written procedures to promote effective communication and timeliness within the value analysis process.
- Works closely with GPO to establish and maintain network contract tiers and monitor agreement prices.
- Coordinates product evaluations and maintains evaluation statistics/results.
- Creates product utilization reports and spreadsheets to assist assigned VAC with the decision-making process.
- Maintains monthly and yearly cost savings reports for assigned VAC.
- Collaborates with clinical staff to assist with product changes and in scheduling training for new products and services.
- Coordinates with VAC members in setting annual targeted savings goals.
- Receives new product requests and assigns requests to the appropriate VAC.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's in Business Administration, Healthcare or related field of study from an accredited college or university.
- 5 plus years of experience working in a relevant clinical position, billing, supply chain, or related field in a healthcare setting.
- Certified Value Analysis Healthcare Professional (CVAHP).
- Current RN, LPN/LVN, or CST licensure.
- 3 plus years of experience as a Medical Tech in the military.
